Construction Project Management

The FireManager gives you all of the tools you need to manage the review and approval of construction projects of all types. These projects can involve numerous contractors and often have complicated interdependencies. Our graphical depiction of the project shows those relationships and prevents details from falling through the cracks. The graphic shows the following entities:

Projects: The project is the top-level component of the job. It could be a new hospital, golf course or simply a tenant improvement in an existing building.

Plan Reviews: Any number of contractors can submit plans for their piece of the project.

Permits: Once a plan review has been approved, a permit is issued to grant the contractor permission to begin work.

Benchmarks: Benchmarks are items on a permit that must be completed to your satisfaction before the permit can be finalled.

Appointments: Also called inspections, appointments are made with the contractor periodically to inspect and approve benchmarks.

External Dependencies: There are times when one contractor's permit cannot be finalled until another contractor's work is done. This feature allows you to create those links.

Detailed information about each contractor is maintained, including basic contact information, key employees and license numbers. Additional tabs on the contractor screen reveal all plan reviews and permits with which the contractor was involved, any stop work orders that have been issued and any reinspection fees that have been assessed against the contractor.

Stop work orders can be issued at the permit level (affecting only that contractor) or at the project level if all work must stop on the site. Stop work orders appear graphically in project explorer as a red stop sign next to the affected entity.

Reinspection fees are shown on the graphic as a dollar sign. If a dollar sign is present, your staff will know to not schedule any additional appointments until the fee is paid.

All documents associated with the project are bar coded. Simply scan the bar code from project explorer to locate, display and open the correct document.
